Hal Fam and Gdm with Openbox?
Is Hal, Fam and Gdm anything exclusive to Gnome or can it be used with Openbox aswell?
I want to have full folder update in realtime, automatic usb-stick mounts/dismounts and a good looking login manager.

Yes, you can use them with any window manager.

hal is more or less a dependency of Xorg anyway.
