How do I use Greek letters in XeTeX?

Hi

I'd like a straight-forward Arch Linux way of using Greek letters in my XeTeX document. E.g., I'd like to write "αστήρ" in my document, so my questions are:

* Which packages should I install?
* Which font should I install?
* Which LaTeX package should I use in my document?
* What do I insert around the Greek text to make it use the Greek font?

That's all.

Thanks

AFAIK, it works fairly much out of the box.  See:

While that is true, it would become cumbersome to keep using escape codes for such things.

There are scripts like this one for vim that make it somewhat less work:

Also, latex-suite (use svn from AUR) can also take some of the work out of it:

You do not want to use the greek math symbols to write normal greek text. If that is what you want, you need a localized version of TeX and a respective font.
