How is the arch-games repo?

One of the packagers is a Trusted User, and the other probably would be if he applied...  So, I'd be happy to use it.

You can always just checkout their PKGBUILDs, inspect them and build the package yourself if you are really concerned.

I'm a happy user of arch-games repo. I couldn't get blobby2 to compile on my machine from AUR - so I installed it from arch-games and it runs ok.
Analogically when i built open-arena with other than generic flags, it was not working for me. So why spend time building open-arena with the same generic flags when you can download it from repo.
