[Solved]Can't use KEYBOARD and MOUSE when GDM booted

Hey, guys, I had installed ArchLinux 2009.02 yesterday but I faced a huge problem, that is, when GDM booted, the keyboard and mouse are frozen.

I installed Arch by using a USB stick and the iso is 2009.02 x86_64. When I finished installing, I used "pacman -Sy & pacman -Suv" to upgrade my system, then, used "pacman -S xorg hwd gnome gdm nvidia" to install xorg and gnome. When they are all finished, I used "hwd -xa & nvidia-xconfig" to generate xorg.conf file.

Then I rebooted my comp, thus the problem came. When the GDM login window shows up, my keyboard and mouse are frozen. I've tried "rm /etc/X11/xorg.conf & hwd -xa", no use. Then I just deleted /etc/X11/xorg.conf, still no use.
And also add hal into daemons of rc.conf, got the same answer.

My keyboard and mouse are both made by Microsoft, as keyboard is PS/2 and mouse is USB. The point is a month ago, I have the same arch installed, and it worked very well. This time, for some reason, I re-installed arch, with the same iso - 200902_x86_64.

Can you please make sure, that you added HAL before GDM in your rc.conf?
Also make sure HAL is not backgrounded

I am definitely sure about that, cause I just add hal into rc.conf and didn't add GDM into it. I modified /etc/inittab to let xorg start GDM.

Try starting xorg without xorg.conf. Also make sure xf86-input-evdev is installed.

if you want not to use hal, like is configured, you have to install addional packages:
extra/xf86-input-keyboard
extra/xf86-input-mouse

if you want to use hal just remove the options from Section "ServerFlags"

I installed xf86-input-keyboard and xf86-input-mouse and then removed section "ServerFlags", then rebooted.

acturally, we can fix this , just by installing xf86-input-keyboard and xf86-input-mouse, then add hal to daemons in rc.conf
