I installed xcreensaver and configured it, but it doesn't turn off the monitor, or blank the screen, or do anything I told it to.
using xfce
also have gnome and kde installed, is gnome-screensaver or gnome-power-manager getting in the way? I've had issues with them.
I've also failed at getting the display to turn off in xorg.conf after doing this:
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Dis … _DPMS_in_X
however, I can turn off the display manually with
dpms xset force off
and, sometimes, just to but me, it will work.
