Screen keeps turning off.

The screen keeps going black, and I turned off screensavers, and the power manger in gnome is set to never do that. But it still happens, and I'm confused.

Re: Screen keeps turning off.

There's not much we can do with the info you've given us. Try using a LiveCD, or another OS (Winblows). Try plugging the monitor into another PC. Does the problem still occur outside of X? Etc. See if you can replicate the problem. My best guess right now is it's a setting in your monitor, or else some power daemon.

Re: Screen keeps turning off.

I have a notebook, so it's not a monitor setting.

Re: Screen keeps turning off.

xorg.conf has a setting that controls this.

    Option "BlankTime" "5"

The 5 in this case means 5 minutes until it blanks. Adjust as needed. Also you can play with xset
