Low terminal resolution during install

I'm migrating one of my computers from Gentoo to Arch. I can successfully get past GRUB . Right after the Linux kernel starts the resolution switches to only about 40  wide and a comparable height. When text gets to the end of the screen it continues past the end of the screen without displaying. The current Gentoo install hasn't has had this problem.

For the specs:
Pentium III
nVidia Riva TNT2
(others by request)

Any idea on what's going on?

Re: Low terminal resolution during install

Try to add vga=773 to the kernel line of /boot/grub/menu.lst

Good ideas do not need lots of lies told about them in order to gain public acceptance.
