i assume you're asking if it's a compatible processor, yes it is, (it's x86-64 based)

You can install either the 32-bit or the 64-bit version of Arch on a core2duo machine. Does that help you?

Hi r0b0t,

Your CPU can run both Arch i686 and x86-64. Pick the one you like, and go for it.
About the hardening and problems that you speak, what do you mean by that?

Re: x86 based laptop but processor Intel core 2 duo

Wow, thank you guys, extreme support, thank you very mutch again..
Sow it is compatible with both of them, i will go for i686 smile
For the problems, i have some experience with slackware, and it have some problems with my ATI radeon after configuring (with all right, xorg.conf editing etc) sow after some weeks X don't want to start, and strange but it was slow..
Now i'm running fedora and its pretty god but i want something more , you now,... Linux wink
I am a CS student and love assembly sow i want something more programmer oriented, but otherwise i have exams and i'm a little afraid about playing around with bash and dedicating the time only for fixing problems with arch, type compatibility with Wpa2 enterprise - TLS, or, ati support, or, spim \ prolog \ lisp etc...
Btw, will install on a 32 g ntfs partition winshit, only for this programs, i don't like to much virtual machines...
Yep, this is all i think big_smile

Thanks again, it's just amazing finding this ALIVE community.

You can run all those compilers/interpreters using native Linux versions.
