Yeah I tried searching the forums for an answer, no luck! The symptoms are as follows:
I press the play button, nothing plays/moves. I click a song, a red X shows next to the file. This occurs for ALL file formats, yet for some reason some low bitrate mp3 files and movies seem to play. The terminal says
[Error 01:11:55.833] GStreamer resource error: NotFoundeven though there ARE ALL of the gstreamer packages installed on my system.
Any ideas? I like this program and have been flabbergasted not having it.

Try reinstalling it using:
sudo pacman -S gstreamer0.10-pluginsAlso, what file formats are you trying to play? Do other gstreamer players work like totem or rhythmbox?

Sorry for the post much later. Other gstreamer players work fine. I use rhythmbox daily. I also have the Banshee equalizer enabled, but disabling doesn't help. However, when I try to access the equalizer now, it kills the program. What used to be my favorite audio player does nothing now!
Banshee trips over Midi files among other files, but I haven't been using it to play Midi, so it should stop having the problem.

Where does banshee store it's settings? I tried deleting the settings but it doesn't work. If there's some kind of setting I can reset, I'd want to do it.

Configuration: $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/banshee
Cache: $XDG_CACHE_HOME/banshee
Data: $XDG_DATA_HOME/bansee

Thank you, clearing all those directories worked!
