why do you want to work in terminal to read pdf files ?


u can use a desktop environment, such as kde or gnome...

maybe because it's nice to have an other WM than gnome or kde .  Like it integrates with your tiling wm etc.

If you're open for lightweight graphical alternatives as well, I would suggest community/apvlv. It's a PDF viewer that uses the vi keybindings.

fbgs is a good PDF reader for the console. Tends to work well only for black and white pages, though (it can be used with a -c option for color).

I would agree with your proposition 100 percent if... I wasn't a tablet PC user. My pen only works in X, along with the program I use to take notes (Xournal) sad

epdfview now has some vi keybindings. It's just j and k for moving up and down. Going between pages is now smooth too.
