Unstable wifi

Hi fellas, I have a Intel ProWireless 2200 b/g card in my laptop. In windows it shows the signal is full (100% or how does it display...), on the other hand in linux it does this weird thing, it goes on and off again, even though the access point is right next to the laptop. I suppose it is only driver problem... The connection works even though iwconfig says signal 0/100, and screenlet for wifi says the same, packets are still going both ways, i can ping anything, see my nfs shares, etc... Anyone experiencing the same? It is pretty weird. Thanks fellas.
