filesystem encryption and suspend to disk?

I just bought an asus eee pc 1000HE and I would like to do my first Arch install on it. I would also like to encrypt the whole system except /boot as instructed in the wiki.

My question is the following: won't the system encryption interfere with the suspend to disk function? Browsing the forums on that issue only lead to this issue, which I don't know if it's representative, and to the realization that my swap partition should be increased from 0.5 to 1 GiB to keep up with the ram during the suspend to disk function. Since I have not started yet the installation, that's easily addressed.

So please let me know if you're using in your laptop filesystem encryption and suspend to disk are playing nice with each other, and if you had to do something specific to get there, or if this is always a nightmare.
