Mythbuntu weird network issue

I'm a little confused about this.

I've installed Mythbuntu on my Mac mini.

At work, I boot up and DHCP is default, so it grabs an IP address. I can ssh into it.

At home, I connect to my router and boot up, and the light on the router shows that an ethernet port is being used. But in the router settings, no connection is shown (only my arch laptop), and nmap -sP 192.168.1.1/24 only shows the router and this laptop as being up.

Any ideas why it isn't showing?

(I was hoping to use it headless for now.)

EDIT: my home router also runs a DHCP server.
