[Radeonhd]AGP mode set to 4x instead of 8x

I've got an ATI X1950GT AGP and I'm using the radeonhd driver.
I've noticed in my Xorg.log that on load it uses Agp mode 4x instead of 8x (As I have specified ). Since I know that the AGP mode has a significant impact on the system performance I would like to know how to properly set it.

I will check that out, but I'm almost sure it is since in Windows ( I have dual boot ) the Ati Catalyst Control Center reports 8x

EDIT: There is no option about AGP ( apart from the AGP aperture size ) in the BIOS configuration program. My motherboard however is an Intel D865PERL.

I've noticed that lsmod | grep agp gives me this output:

Is alright to see the intel_agp module or should I use ati_agp?
That module is motherboard dependent or VGA dependent?

It seems that the "radeonhd" driver doesn't support the AGPMode option.
Installing the "radeon" driver solved everything ( and the performance seems better on my ATI X1950GT ).
