[SOLVED] pacman -S python not working...

Hi

I am still with the beginners guide and crawl through it.

I can ping www.google.com.  Therefore I assume I have internet connection.  However, when I type "# pacman -S python", the answer is:

python package not found, searching for group...
error: 'python' not found in sync db

Any ideas will be welcome

Found something about refreshing package list.  did a "# pacman -Ssy"  and after that all went well.

Thank you!
