I was reading through the Beginner's Guide Wiki article in preparation for a fresh install and came across this under Prepare for the test by configuring ~/.xinitrc
"If you installed from a fresh (Core) install, it does not include the X window manager, so .xinitrc does not exist in /etc/skel. Instead, use the sample provided here"
Maybe this is me being dumb but how exactly would I go about this. Would I just create the file by hand and make it executable?

In the beginner's guide, the subsection about configuring .xinitrc is preceded by installing and configuring xorg. So you should have a copy of .xinitrc in /etc/skel if you have followed the instructions sequentially. It does seem a bit misplaced or unclear indeed.

Thanks for the quick response.
That line probably isn't even needed since the guide assumes that you've followed it step-by-step anyway. Or maybe it should be stated that installing Xorg creates that file. Even the Xorg wiki article doesn't state that.
edit: Added a line to the beginner's guide to clarify this.
