kde 4: widget keyboard shortcuts

Hi,

What are widget keyboard shortcuts for? I put World Clock widget on my desktop; it's useful, but ugly: I don't care to have it on display at all times. I've defined a shortcut for it, but it doesn't seem to affect the widget in any way. If it is not for hiding the widget, what is it for?

Is there a way to hide widgets on demand?
