Arch starts up with no problems, but to get a wireless connection I have to
iwconfig wlan0 essid bleh
dhcpcd wlan0
Its the only way I can see to get online, I have wicd but it always gives me a dbus error
Next question is I use xfce, I would like it to autologin and go directly to xfce after startup, how can I do this?
Also I dont have the screen saver option in xfce how can i fix this?

Have a look at http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Wireless_Setup
It should give you all the answers you need forw your wireless connection.
As for your other question,I dont use xfce but I know kdm and gdm support auto login. How do you currently login?

My advice would be to as root:
pacman -S gdm
/etc/rc.d/gdm start
gdmsetup
In the security tab, There is an option for automatic login. Also make sure you add gdm to your daemon list in /etc/rc.conf
