Hi!
I cannot watch films in Arch64. Only the sound works. I'm using KDE4. Dragon player, kaffeine and other does the same thing.
When they open the file (avi or other) the playback starts but only the sound works. The video area ramains totally black all the time. No errors if I run these players from the terminal.
I reinstalled every (I think) codec related package, checked gstreamer, xorg and nothing.
I think that it occured after upgrading to catalyst 9.5. I tried putting again the previous version and nothing solves the problem. Actually I'm using open source radeonhd drivers because of the 2.6.30 kernel.
The video plays back perfectly in youtube.
Could someone suggest something?
I already searched the forum and didn't saw something that could help me.
Thanks in advance!

Does that happens on every video format? Have you tried MPlayer? Before the radeonhd drivers did the video work fine?

It happens with every video format. I already tried mplayer and it doesn't work too. The problems began with the catalyst 9.5 update (I'm not really sure about that). It worked fine with catalyst 9.4 but know it doesn't. It might be some other problem not related to the card driver but I think it began with it.

Charlie Chaplin movies don't have sound. My movies have sound and video working perfectly on windows and ubuntu with catalyst, but on Arch only the sound is played...

Catalyst 9.6 has just been released, maybe you should try it..

It's solved. When I installed kaffeine-kde4-svn from AUR it required ffmpeg-svn to be installed. It worked without problems for a long time and I forgot ffmpeg.
Today I removed it and installed ffmpeg in the repo. Everything is working and kaffeine-svn too.
