Hello
Just got the laptop two days ago and a friend installed arch on it yesterday but couldn't get the audio to work. I did some reading online to check to make sure everything was set up right and I see no problems well except that I'm getting no audio.
* Alsamixer is unmuted and the volume is turned up
* Both root and regular user can't play any music, the regular user is added to the audio group
* I re-ran alsaconf
* No sound playing from any apps
* No sound out of speakers as well has headphones.
Once we get past there I have no idea what to do... could you guys give me a hand?
Any help is thoughly appriciated.

It looks like your modules are loaded correctly.Do you get any sound when you run
speaker-test
or
aplay /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav

I had this problem also awhile back.
Open alsamixer and make sure LineJac is muted, then try your sound.

Linejack? I don't think I have one. Here's a pic of what alsa looks like:

Your alsamixer doesn't look like mine does.
I have 24 settings selections and LineJac is the 11th selection to the right of master.

Add
hda-verb /dev/snd/hwC0D0 0x1c SET_EAPD_BTLENABLE PCM
to /etc/rc.local
