using ARCH what would onyx be concidered?

i just got Arch added to my laptop (Toshiba SAT X200) im trying to look for ways to add my touchpad and other things back ion my laptop but i am finding many different names for programs, im a real newbie (3days to be exact) i know NOTHING about linux except its pretty cool. my father installed Arch linux and when i log in it says "welcome to onyx" what is onyx and is it the same as Arch? is onyx the name of the OS? i know it sounds small but the answer would really help my case in researching things for this computer

I am pretty sure that would be the name of the computer ... but I don't feel like logging out and back in to check.  smile

ralvez posts count > 1000.   Hmm....  I'm guessing this is your fathers account?  You should probably just register for one yourself.

Anyway, it is probably your hostname.  To look at that use "less /etc/rc.conf" in a terminal and scroll down until you see the HOSTNAME variable.
