Need help with my time from someone in UK

I am having a nightmare with my clock since i compiled my own 2.4 kernel it seems.

i am in the UK and it is British summer time at the mo so we are GMT +1

i have these settings in rc.conf:

HARDWARECLOCK="UTC"
TIMEZONE=GB

i use this server to sync my time:

ntpdate a.ntp.alphazed.net

it is fine in Linux but when i boot into Windows the clock is one-hour slow but the settings are correct in Windows i.e. the daylight savings is enabled

help! have i missed something?

Windows sets the clock to localtime. Unix systems set them to UTC by default, but Linux can do either. If you're going to be using Windows and Linux, change the clock to use localtime.

winner - i'll try it - the wiki says "set your clock to UTC" - it seems fairly definitive - maybe this is a note worth adding?
