OSS4: how can I mix my left-right stereo channels into one mono chan?

I'm getting horrible hardware failures recently. My 2.1 speaker system just died. I've salvaged one of the speakers which I can plug directly into my "green plug" on the onboard soundcard (ADI AD 1988 8-channel High Definition Audio CODEC --copied straight from the mobo manual; you can tell I know nothing about computer audio).

Currently I only hear the left stereo channel on the speaker. Is is possible to combine both right and left channels in a system-wide fashion? I want mono output. I'm using OSS4.
