whenever I install from aur and the terminal prompts me about something concerning the package, it doesn't use the package name but instead $PKG so I can't tell which package its talking about for example: ==> Continue the building of $PKG ? [Y/n]
Is anyone else getting this problem? does anyone know how to fix it?

It would help if you told us what software are you using to install from the AUR...

I actually know what he's talking about, just haven't had the time to troubleshoot it. Using yaourt, and installing any package from [unsupported] (not AUR, community works fine), it gives the following:
==> Downloading $PKG PKGBUILD from AUR...
tar: Record size = 8 blocks
==> Last $MAXCOMMENTS comments ordered by date ($ORDERBY):
[...]
==> $PKG dependencies:
[...]
==> Continue the building of $PKG ? [Y/n]
[...]
==> Continue installing $PKG? [Y/n]
==> [v]iew package contents [c]heck package with namcapOffline
exactly! do you know how to fix it?

I'm not sure how or where you can report yaourt bugs, but that's what you have to do. While you're waiting for the fix, you can build and install your packages with makepkg and pacman.

I don't use yaourt anymore, but as far as i rembember you have to install gettext.
