Ok, i did a pacman -Syu for the first time in many months. Since then, i can only use the default Arch Linux kernel, i had one that i had compiled myself but after the upgrade, it will not recognize my two ethernet cards, ( one connects me to the net, and one connects me to a thinkpad )
ok,, any ideas of what went wrong? it may have something to do with udev being included in the Syu. i dont know a lot about it though.
thanks all for any suggestions,

maybe Pacman nuked the old modules,
check /lib/modules/name_of_kernel ,
if that's the case your own kernel don't got any modules anymore,
arch + gentoo + initng + python = enlisy

ok under /lib/modules/WHERE IS MY CUSTOM KERNEL !
ok, so what now, rebuild?
thanks

Or even better, don't have kernel26 installed at all.

if you do as Xentac says you should get your kernel source at kernel.org, not the same version as arch',
after that you can do "pacman -R kernel26"
I have.
arch + gentoo + initng + python = enlisy
