I had a similar problem a while back.I fixed it by disabling atmosphere from the view menu and the map appeared.Might not be your problem but give it a go

Search through the forums, there was a topic somewhere on google earth graphics corruption, as I recall there was some config file within /opt/googleearth to change to fix it.

Fount it! lib32-nvidia-utils-185.18.14-1 is not an optional dependency it is mandatory!

In future, please indicate if you're using 64-bit, and whether you're in a chroot or using lib32 when asking questions concerning a 32-bit app . Glad you got it solved.
