some sort of virtual desktop webcam

is there some sort of fake webcam software that records your desktop but can be selected as a webcam in programs such as skype , i have googled this a bit but i cannot find such piece of software , could someone point me in the right direction.

Oh sorry I didn't see the part where you wanted it as a webcam for Skype. I didn't know such a thing exists unless one of the above listed programs have that feature.
