-{Solved}-ETQW does not run on Arch64

SO i have the game installed anbd of course i am having a lib32 problem.

sh /usr/local/games/etqw/etqw ~
./etqw.x86: error while loading shared libraries: libSDL-1.2.so.0: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64

I saw on http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Usi … _on_Arch64
lib32-nvidia-utils, lib32-alsa-lib, [lib32-libstdc++5, lib32-openal]  to make this work.  I have all of those library files still installed.  I read where you can use chroot to do something like this but chroot makes no sense to me.  What am i missing here in gettting it to run

And God created the Open Source Programming Community, and it was good. Satan retaliated with its evil twin, Windows and thus the battle for good and evil has begun.

Re: -{Solved}-ETQW does not run on Arch64

from: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages/etqw/etqw/PKGBUILD

 depends=('lib32-libgl' 'lib32-sdl' 'lib32-gcc-libs' 'lib32-zlib' 'lib32-libjpeg')

bte: why don't ou use the aur PKGBUILD. it's a lot easier.

c'mon, do some searching: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe … un&spell=1

you can also flag the AUR package out-of-date.

Well still learnign only beene ereally using arch as my sole distro for less than 4 days.  And if you read the post earlier where i said i had it installed and running so i did do some searching.  Thanks for the idea of marking aur as out of date that never crossed my mind

No don't flag out of date please.  Read the comments!  Getting a direct download isn't really possible for that program yet.  Do as one comment suggested and find a download and put it in the source directory.

heh? why not?
i have a working PKGBUILD around here...

i guess it's the contributor`s/maintiner's duty to keep the PKGBUILD up-to-date.
even if the dl-link frequently changes!

Re: -{Solved}-ETQW does not run on Arch64

You might be right, DonVla.  The package hasn't been updated for over a month and there is an issue there that the post-install note is way to vague to be able to put the .pk# files in the correct directories.  As for a direct-link, I think that this is going to be tougher.  Some mirrors like to be consulted before a major link is added to their site.

As for the missing dependency nmodlin, could you put it on the AUR page so it gets fixed?
