hey guys!
is there a reason, why links is compiled without the graphics mode?

i don't know it could be a preference thing on the part of the packager. i asked for it before. on the other hand it is easy to rebuild it locally with graphic support, which i have done.

I know that: I've already made my own package... but I thought of security holes, unstable releases and so on.
I use it on a server with no x and surfing with links/lynx in ascii mode is pretty hard....
is there a chance to change it generally?

you could place a feature request through the bug tracker. i would change the package if it were in my jurisdiction but it is not.
question though. if your server does not have x would that not defeat the purpose of having a grphical interface for links? i was under the assumption that the graphical feature requires X.

btw: i use the matrox framebuffer! 8) graphic websurfing on a non-X-system
