I've installed all of the needed lib32 packages (as far as I can tell), and bin32-dwarffortress. I get the following error when I try to run it:
Using OpenGL output path with client-side arrays
Ideal catalog size: 252x248
GPU does not support non-power-of-two textures, using 256x256 catalog.
The program 'dwarfort.exe' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation)'.
(Details: serial 38 error_code 1 request_code 153 minor_code 179)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

Bump- I have the Intel 965 chipset and the latest driver. The same error occurs with KMS disabled.

Bump again. I get a similar error when I try to run it through bin32-wine.

For this sort of non-packaging error, could you stick to reporting in the appropriate thread at bay12games.com?
I've got a debug-ish build of the thing around, but you'd never know from looking in here.

Okay. There was supposed to be a debug build up, but due to lack of stubs-32.h I can't compile DF now. My gentoo-running laptop is in for service. Sorry. ^^;
Anyone got a workaround for the stubs-32 thing?

It seemed to me that this was a problem on my end, not with DF. Anyway, which would be the appropriate thread?

http://www.bay12games.com/forum/index.php?topic=28841.0 <-- This one.
It may well be a problem on your end, but the point is, it's not a packaging error, and anyhow I'd really like DF to give more useful diagnostics too.
