How to compile xf86-video-mach64 from git? (Doesn't have a Makefile)

So, I want to compile xf86-video-mach64 from git... I can clone it fine, but it doesn't include a Makefile...

There's a autogen.sh and a Makefile.am... but... no Makefile in the src folder.

I'm used to seeing a Makefile, so I can just type make <whatever> in the source folder.  Have I been spoiled?

UPDATE: I think I figured it out... I have to run the autogen.sh script... working on getting all the dependencies sorted on that.  I've seen that file in the past, but never had to use it.

A confusing dependency was that it complained about a script syntax error for xinerama... turns out I had to install xorg.

UPDATE: I recompiled the driver from git, but it still didn't solve my problem... onto mesa, I suppose.
