I am having this problem since I have update bash to version 4.x.
When new urxvt instance is spawned, the interrupt Ctrl-C doesn't work in bash.
I use urxvt daemon and urxvt client, but same is with standard urxvt terminal.
When I disable sourcing of bash_completion from my .bashrc problem disappears.
Anybody has any idea? Tnx

There is a working patch mentioned in this bug report dated april 13th.
I have no time to actually check, hence: Has this been applied to the current bash package?
To know or not to know ...
... the questions remain forever.

It seems it hasn't.
I tried recompiling package with that patch applied it still doesn't work for me even if responses on the mailing list says it works.
My question is: Why it is working when I exclude bash completion from bash?

I have a similar problem, it will actually print ^C and after a while not work at all. I don't have bash_completion, and it even happens in aterm / xterm, and in a Xephyr window without WM. Maybe there's something bash3ish in env and I need a reboot? For me it was a good excuse to switch to zsh.
