ALSA: Realtek ALC883 Microphone Not Working

Hey I have just spent the past 4 hours to try and get the microphone working with ALSA however I have had no luck, I have tried different model configs for modprobe. Here are my details

Laptop: Asus C90S
ALSA version: 1.0.20-1
Kernel version: 2.6.30.1-1
Dmesg: http://pastebin.com/m31f9f94f
Amixer: http://pastebin.com/m698673d
Aadebug: http://pastebin.com/m2173ac90
50-Sound.conf (in /etc/modprobe.d/): http://pastebin.com/m1137bf73
modprobe.conf (in /etc/modprobe.d/):
http://pastebin.com/m1fcbe703

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: ALSA: Realtek ALC883 Microphone Not Working

Have you tried to change the Input Source 0 and Input Source 1 to the other options? I have to set them to "Front Mic" instead of "Mic" for them to work, though you could also try "Line" if that doesn't work.

How exactly do you change it to the other options, I didn't seem to be able to do it in alsamixer

Yes, in alsamixer it should be easy. Simply using the arrow keys move to the Input Source and with th up/down arrows you can select Front Mic. At least it's how it works here.
