Dependency issue

I just started to use Arch and i am so impressed!

I get the following problem:

sudo pacman -Syu
:: Synchronizing package databases...
 kde-unstable is up to date
 core is up to date
 extra is up to date
 community is up to date
:: Starting full system upgrade...
:: Replace phonon with kde-unstable/qt? [Y/n] y
warning: libjpeg: local (7-1) is newer than extra (6b-6)
warning: libtiff: local (3.8.2-5) is newer than extra (3.8.2-4)
resolving dependencies...
error: cannot resolve "libmng>=1.0.10-2", a dependency of "qt"
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: qt: requires libmng>=1.0.10-2

Any suggestions what should I do?

Thank you

Re: Dependency issue

Why do you use kde-unstable without testing? That wont work.

Re: Dependency issue

I wanted to have kde4.3 RC without destabilising the whole system.

Can I downgrade the whole system without kde-unstable?

Thanks for the quick answer!

Look on the bright side - official release date of KDE 4.3 is 27th July. Not that long a wait now, is it?

Re: Dependency issue

You are absolutely right!

Should I delete the rep kde-unstable and then somehow downgrade all the packages to the other three rep?

Re: Dependency issue

For what it is worth - I've had testing enabled for a while 'cos I was trying something out, forgot about it and realised about two months later that it was still there wink I just commented it out and let the others play catch-up. So far no adverse effects.

Re: Dependency issue

Hmm, perhaps I should go unstable.

Do the majority of the people do that?

Re: Dependency issue

If add the testing and the end of all repos,will this solve the issue?

Re: Dependency issue

Testing should be above the others, or you will likely have problems.

Should be good to go if you have testing and kde unstable.

Re: Dependency issue

before I used the KDE4.3 repo from http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=66117&p=6

and I didn't need to use the testing repo at all. (Maybe it's not related, but it was working much better than the current KDE unstable which is getting very slow after a while.)

I think I can wait until the 27th July...
