Pm-Suspend Fails Without an Error

I've gotten a weird situation when I try to run pm-suspend to hopefully suspend my laptop.  My display blanks black, my wireless led blinks amber (shwoing its off), the wireless led then turns back on, and my system comes back exactly how I had it before hand and NetworkManager reconnects to my wireless.  Everything runs as it should except I get no suspension of my system tongue.  What I honestly find weird is, Pm-Hibernate just works perfectly.

The log is showing everything is running fine, I've got acpid/laptop-mode/hal all running, I've got the resume=/dev/sda2 setup in grub, I've recompliled my ramdisk with the resume hook, and I'm added to the power group.  I've got an Intel 4500MHD chipset but I'm not running KMS. My laptop is an HP dv4 and it says in the quirks that I need s3-bios and s3-mode and when I run those with pm-suspend, gives me the exact same problem.  I've also tried uswsusp and attempted every different flag for s2ram and I still get the same problem.  Thats all of the factors I can think of at the moment that might be bugging this problem.

Any ideas on how to get this working?Pm-Hibernate works

Re: Pm-Suspend Fails Without an Error

Already scoured that whole wiki and tried every option they had, no difference.  I think its some sort of outside factor thats messing with it.  I'm running a default Gnome install with Openbox as my window manager so it should be using default settings.

Edit: I broke english also sad.
