window maker error
i tried to get window maker up and runnin but got this error
wmaker fatal error: could not open display ""does anyone know what this means and how to remedy it?? what is the best desktop environment to use of the choices in .3 anyhoo??

You need to setup XFree86 first and start your window manager from your ~/.xinitrc file

ok it makes sense now. duh. but my arch box hds all failed (probably a result of my rage of tweakin gone bad) so i reset up on my other sys.

After 5 long years, I'm facing this problem once again. but I've got xfce4 running with xorg and still i get the same problem with windowmaker though I am able to start wmaker from within fluxbox. Is anybody listening this old thread?
