[request] openoffice - writer. only! the writer

hi
i' m interested in the writer of the open office suite, but i can't figure out how to install or compile just this pariticular app of the oo-suite. is it even possible? i've looked through some wiki pages and the abs PKGBUILD, but couldn't find any clues on how to activate/deactivate certain apps.
btw, i don't like abiword, cause it lacks of features.

I don't believe it's possible.  All the info on the Openoffice websites discourage attempting to install only part of the "application suite."  Search engines turn up nothing on the topic.

An alternative is to use an online application such as Google Docs, which I found disappointing, or Zoho or perhaps Buzzword from Adobe/ Acrobat.

It's possible, but useless. The bulk of the OOo package consists of common code that is shared between all OOo applications, so splitting out the text processor, spreadsheat application etc. would save you a few KB, maybe MB if you're lucky. But not a lot.

The distros that do split it up do it manually, after compilation.
