Clock / date changes, don't know why

Hi community, I'm new to Arch Linux (former Ubuntu user) and have a couple of questions.

When I start up my Laptop (ThinkPad SL300) the clock and the date is wrong.
So I set it to the right time / date. But the next time I use my Laptop its again a wrong time / date.

Anybody an idea what is wrong?

"Europe/Berlin", so its the right time zone for me.
By now i noticed, that if i just restart my system the time / date is still right.
So it might be a problem with the battery, right? But the crazy thing is, all the other BIOS settings are saved correctly...

If the first number in /var/lib/hwclock/adjtime is very big, you might want to try changing it to 0. That number is the amount of seconds your clock is adjusted on every boot to account for the natural drift of your hardware clock.

Yes, I'm dualbooting with Vista, but I usually never boot it.

My /var/lib/hwclock/adjtime lokks like that:

-9047.252027 1248037133 0.000000
1248036007
LOCAL

so should i change it to
-0 1248......(and so on)?

Don't mess with the contents. Just remove /var/lib/hwclock/adjtime, make sure your clock has been properly set, restart and check its contents again. It should now feature a rather low value. Otherwise you might have a problem with your hardwre clock.

Become root then do the following:

date -s 00:24 # to set the time
hwclock --systohc # to synchronize hwclock with current time. Nothing should change after reboot.

Ok. I did what bernarcher told me to do. Now my /var/lib/hwclock/adjtime looks like that:

0.000000 1248042640 0.000000
1248042640
LOCAL

I hope that fixed the problem.

In your rc.conf, are you using localtime or UTC?

i was Facing the Same problem at mine desktop
i tried it.

Just Remove the file 
/var/lib/hwclock/adjtime

and reboot ur system
after reboot it will create a new file with new values..

or tyr it.
