Hi,
I was wondering if suck a thing exists as a sort of index of all Open Source projects, to help organize what has already has been done and what still needs to be done. Source Forge somewhat comes to mind, but it only hosts projects and not all projects are hosted there.
So is there such a place?
Thanks
.

Calm down, it is only ones and zeroes.

freshmeat might be what you're looking for.

As far as I know, such a place does not exist.
Imo, Sourceforge has done an excellent job (even if it can be a bit slow and large), but the reality is that such an undertaking is not an easy one.

Looks like thats what Freshmeat does.

There's quite a few. The FSF has a nice one: http://directory.fsf.org/

These are all software related but open source is bigger - what about the other open source projects such as cars, mobile phones, prosthetics, the Gutenberg project, you name it...? Anybody an idea?
