[SOLVED] SL300 Lenovo Laptop brightness issue

Hi!

I've recently converted a Lenovo SL300 laptop from Gentoo to Arch. So far everything is working fantastically, but the screen brightness gets set to almost nothing when acpi starts. This is due to a known issue with the SL300 - they have Ideapad firmware which doesn't follow acpi specifications properly, so the most recent versions of acpi ignore

There is a module that you can download & compile (lenovo-sl-laptop), but I always just set my screen brightness to max. The brightness keys do work, so I can just flip it to full with one key press, but I'd prefer to be able to pass that information to the module at boot, so that I can see what it's doing.

I suspect I need to put an acpid option in modprobe.conf - any idea what it might be?

EDIT:
Found a fix at http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Len … kpad_SL500, which also applies to the SL300.
