I am trying to watch Hulu videos on my fairly recent laptop (Core2Duo @ 2.2 GHz, 4 GB RAM) but the videos stutter horribly, making it unwatchable. And then, I can't use "ESC" to exit full screen. I have to switch to a console and back to X to get out of it.
Does anyone know what might be causing either of these problems and/or how to fix them?

The cause is general flash player crappyness on linux, even for a relatively small video it can tax a high end cpu. About not being able to exit fullscreen, I have no idea whatsoever of what might be the problem.
As a workaround you may want to try downloading the videos with downloadhelper and watch them with vlc or mplayer.

Yeah, with which video player do you try it ?

Are you using nvidia? If yes, it is a known bug and it has already a workaround. Search the forum.
