[solved] KDM doesn't respawn after logout w/ KMS enabled

I recently enabled KMS and X terminates with Signal 11 on logout presenting the virtual terminal

$ uname -r
2.6.30-ARCH

from /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Fatal server error:
Caught signal 11. Server aborting

Is there any workaround or fix?

Do you have an /etc/inittab.pacnew (or pacorig)?
If no, let's see your /etc/inittab

Re: [solved] KDM doesn't respawn after logout w/ KMS enabled

found a solution to it

I added

TerminateServer=true in kdmrc under section [X-:*-Core] and it works fine now smile

Re: [solved] KDM doesn't respawn after logout w/ KMS enabled

Hi,

I'm experiencing the same issue, kdm is not respawning after i log out in order for me to login again.  I don't belive i'm running KMS, its not enable by default right?

Below is the error.log excerpt:

Aug  7 14:19:39 Beast-Machine kernel: [drm:i915_get_vblank_counter] *ERROR* trying to get vblank count for disabled pipe 0
Aug  7 14:19:39 Beast-Machine kdm[2070]: X server for display :0 terminated unexpectedly
Aug  7 14:19:39 Beast-Machine kdm[2070]: Unable to fire up local display :0; disabling.
Aug  7 14:20:47 Beast-Machine kdm_greet[2092]: Cannot load /usr/share/apps/kdm/faces/.default.face: No such file or directory

and this is my inittab
