Ok problem solved to try tag editor you need to have your config files in ~/.ncmpcpp wink

Can't read file 'directory to file that I want edit'

As it happens I installed ncmpcpp (BTW, that must win the world championship for worst name ever!) yesterday and am flabbergasted at how good a command line music player is. Having read your post, however, I tried this tag business and got the same error message as you.

My ~/.ncmpcpp contains an empty error.log file. So what did you do to get tag stuff working? What does your conf look like?

Cheers smile

Re: [Solved]Editing tag's ncmpcpp.

I guess you should recheck permissions and whether the path is correct. Perhaps http://www.nepherte.be/howto-use-mpd-an … ike-a-pro/ might help you out.

Copy file keys and config from /usr/share/doc/ncmpcpp to your $HOME/.ncmpcpp wink

SpeedVin, I know this is super old, but how did you solve the permission problem?

SpeedVin hasn't been on the forums for over four years, but I imagine they used chmod.. if you're stuck, open a new topic about your issue.
