ibm thinkpad X61 video driver issue

I use awesome wm on my thinkpad X61 laptop, and the mplayer for playing videos. I got  problems when playing some video files(rmvb for example), especially for HD videos. The mplayer says "Your system is too slow!". I believe that it's simply not the case but rather i have some thing configured wrong.

I have tried installed the whole xorg-video-driver bulk, and it works fine for the the files that i can't play correctly before, but after a while when i try to play the same file, it didn't work again and sucks again...

i have already search the arch forum for some solution and tries different "vo" option, but none works well.

plz give me some help ,thx...
