[ALSA] Choosing Devices

Hello.

I have 2 monitors (LCD + LCD TV) and 2 sound cards installed in my system. One of the sound cards is also connected to my TV so I can watch movies (even youtube LOL) in it, using the TV's set volume controls, but every time I need to edit the ~/.asoundrc file to match the sound device I want to use.

Isn't there some command I can use in terminal so the program (gnome-mplayer) will output the sound into the secondary sound card (the one plugged to TV), so I won't need to edit ~/.asoundrc every time?

I used dual head (DISPLAY=:0.1) to send to sec screen + (mplayer -ao=device=1.0) to send to to secondary sound card, but now I am willing to use big desktop + gnome-mplayer.

The option -ao works in mplayer (cli), but unfortunately when I go fullscreen (F) a lot of cropping occurs because of different resolutions of TV and monitor.

Using big desktop and ALSA for sound.

Thanks in advance.
