Probably i will crosspost this at VB forums, but 2009.08 is new, so i think there won't be many users running it in VB. Everything is fine with 2009.02 i686 core iso. Both default and Legacy (IDE) modes works fine. With 2009.08 iso Virtual Box GUI is crashing (VB is on Windows XP SP3). In SATA mode it crashes while console is showing "Loading udev..". In legacy mode it goes a little bit further. Usually crashes after "Adding new aufs branch: overlay".
Maybe someone here has experienced the same issue and has a workaround?

Thanks for the quick reply. Hopefully it will be fixed in 3.0.6

At least the test build works: I can boot into 2.6.30 without problems in the last SVN version.

Please message me in private, if you would like to get a working pre-release version for linux(32/64) or windows.

it should work with 3.0.4-2. i've applied the patch from svn.

I think you can't patch the binary version(with full usb support), because it's closed, just the OSE version.
I tried to ask a pre-release version
