KMail notifications

Hi,
I can't get KMail's notification to work. I used "configure notifications" dialog to play sound and show popup, but it doesn't work. I use Gmail's IMAP.
Is it a bug?

Did it work earlier ? Which kde/kmail do you use ?
In the configuration there's a button to test the sound. Do you hear the sound if you click on this button?
The KDE-wide notification system uses arts AFAIK. Do you hear the KDE startup sound?

You are setting it from within KMail? Open System Setting -> System Notifications. In the Applications tab you can choose the app (here, KMail) from a drop-down menu. In the tab "Player Settings" you can configure the sound player. I suspect that itis globally disabled in the latter tab or that that setting does not work.

The KDE-wide notification system uses arts AFAIK.

Arts is dead. Long live phonon!
