Hey, I followed the directions on the wiki here and I still get no sound. I loaded up alsamixer to unmute the sound output (alsamixer -c1) and the only thing I have is "IEC958" (which I unmuted). I added the "Audio" and "HDMI" lines to my xorg.conf file and restarted, etc. I'm not getting any error messages, I'm just not getting any sound. Has anyone run into this before?
just in case it helps:

Hello aristurtle!
Did you try with other application from aplay, like mplayer, vlc, madplay, mpg123, mpd or in firefox ?
What's the exact error output if you try to start some of them from command line ?
