xorg randomly restarting

For the past couple of weeks I've been noticing that xorg keeps randomly restarting and sending me back to GDM. It happens once or twice a day, usually within 10-15 minutes of booting up. I'm currently running openbox as my WM/desktop environment.

Any ideas where I should check to find out what is going on?

It's probably to do with the inittab changes, there have been loads of posts on this so a for search will yield loads of info
