Re: virtual box USB

Hello sant527!

Which type of virtualbox did you install, OSE version or binary ? OSE version doesn't support so much USB, like binary version. As I know usb source is closed.

"But I am not able access USB." <- What does it mean ? How did you try it, and what's was the concrete error ?

Re: virtual box USB

As djszapi said, you need the binary version for USB support not the OSE version.
Also if you read the wiki it shows you how to get USB working. (you need to be part of the vboxusers group)

Re: virtual box USB

I have read the wiki for USB on guest

when i am adding vboxuser group to the user it says group vboxusers does not exist

What should I do

modules vboxvfs and vboxadd are running fine when I did modprobe.

Re: virtual box USB

"when i am adding vboxuser group to the user it says group vboxusers does not exist" -> Did you try to create manually ?

Did you set usb in the settings well ? Is it problem with a specific usb device or with more ones?
